🤿 Vintage Dive Days: Double Hose Regulator Experience
Step back in diving history 

Are you a certified scuba diver? Jump in on a unique opportunity to experience classic scuba diving using double-hose regulators as part of the events happening at the 2026 Thunder Bay Maritime Festival. Led by the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), this hands-on event lets certified divers test out heritage dive gear in a safe, controlled environment.

📅 Event & Registration Details

  • Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026

  • Location: Marine Technology Training Tank

    Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary’s visitor center and shipwreck museum

    📍 500 W. Fletcher Street, Alpena, MI 49707

  • Session Length: 1.5 hours (Includes gear setup, briefing, and tank dive time)

  • Available Time Slots:

    • 09:00am - 10:30am

    • 10:30am - 12:00pm

    • 1:30pm - 3:00pm

    • 3:00pm - 4:30pm

📋 Diver Requirements & Documentation

To participate, divers must hold a valid certification and submit all required paperwork to the NAUI Training Department no later than August 17, 2026:

  1. Certification: Minimum of Open Water scuba certification (ISO Level 2) from a recognized training agency (submit copy of front and back).

  2. Medical Clearance: Completed clean medical screening form or a form signed by a physician following an evaluation.

  3. Waiver: Signed NAUI Liability Waiver.
