Presented by Force Blue Co-Founder and Executive Director Jim Ritterhoff
Force Blue is the only nonprofit organization in the world that retrains and redeploys former Special Operations veterans to work alongside scientists on marine conservation missions. It is changing the discussion of what it means to be an environmentalist.
Harkening back to the days of Jacques Cousteau and the French frogmen he trained, Force Blue has assembled a modern-day cadre of elite military veterans with the aptitude and ability to achieve great things on the conservation front. As well as the visibility to actually let the world know about it!
Whether it is partnering with brands like the National Football League, Publix Supermarkets, and Pepsi, or governmental agencies like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and its National Marine Sanctuary system, Force Blue is building a model of caring, cooperation, and positive change with the power to restore lives and the planet!
Force Blue is doing a “Tour of Duty” in northeast Michigan in partnership with Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in September. They will help with collecting freshwater acidification samples, surveying marine debris on local shorelines, and monitoring shipwreck sites and mooring buoys. We are excited for them to add this free, community lecture to their tour. Please join us on Wednesday, September 18th to learn more!
Doors open at 5:30pm.
This is a free community event open to all.

NOTE: special movie showing on Saturday, September 21st with “FROG FATHERS: Lessons From The Normandy Surf” at 6pm, also a free community event!
