Middle school members of the Boy and Girls Club of Alpena are invited to participate in a week-long “shipwreck discovery” program using Remotely Operated Vehicles to identify a recently discovered shipwreck. Club members will work in teams to assemble their ROV, complete missions to discover what historic vessel went down in the wreck and present on their findings. Students will work in teams and use technical and communication skills to understand the responsibilities of marine technology professionals and have the opportunity to interact with personnel in the field.
This program is open to 6th-8th grade members of the Boys and Girls Club of Alpena and is free of charge. It is limited to 12 student participants, interested members can contact Jenn or Kellie with questions and to sign up.
