Description:
This three-day summer program explores the wonders of the Great Lakes Basin and its many watersheds. What is a watershed? From glacial retreat to local rivers and streams, students will connect with how water moves within our region and how we as humans impact our aquatic environment. Through a blend of classroom and outdoor settings, students will map, hike, float, and discover their local watershed and the plants and wildlife living within these magical ecosystems. May include cruising on the glass-bottom boat Lady Michigan. All of the activities will be held on campus of the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center.
